West Hills Village Senior Residence Welcomes New Executive Director and Director of Nursing

PORTLAND, Ore. (June 8, 2021) – West Hills Village Senior Residence, a senior living community in Portland, Ore., welcomes new Executive Director Allison Barton, and Director of Nursing Barbara A. Ford-Hardash.

“We are thrilled to have Allison Barton and Barbara A. Ford-Hardash join the team at West Hills Village Senior Residence,” said Regional Director of Operations Jerry Smyle. “Their skills, experience, innovation and dedication will continue to help our community grow and develop in the future.”

Allison has worked in the senior living industry for six years. Before moving to West Hills Village Senior Residence in 2020, Allison worked as the executive director of a memory care community in Albany, Ore. She oversaw day-to-day community operations, managed and supported team members, and ensured residents received the highest quality of care. Allison also has experience working as director of community relations at two separate senior living communities, where she was responsible for collateral marketing materials, development of partnerships and sales initiatives. As director of community relations, Allison was recognized for her efforts that helped the community win the Best Retirement Community title in the “2017 Best of Oregon City” competition from the Oregon City Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Association.

Allison said she enjoys building relationships with the residents at the community and strives to create a space that can be enjoyed for generations to come. Her vision for the future of West Hills Village Senior Residence includes introducing new exercise programs and opportunities for the residents to visit with animals. Allison’s ingenuity and passion for her work make her an excellent addition to West Hills Village Senior Residence.

Barbara A. Ford-Hardash came to West Hills Village Senior Residence with a diverse experience in nursing, management, clinical and teaching skills and a commitment to excellent service and care. Barbara previously worked as a corporate registered nurse (RN) across five assisted living communities in Washington and Oregon. She also worked as director of health services for an assisted living and memory care community. Other previous positions include director of nursing, wellness director, charge nurse, health care coordinator, and licensed vocational nurse (LVN). Barbara has extensive training in patient care, staff training and management, experience in multiple care levels and continuous education to comply with federal and state compliance standards. Barbara is prepared to lead the team at West Hills Village Senior Residence as director of nursing.

After working in the senior living industry for 11 years, Barbara appreciates the wealth of knowledge and experience seniors have to share. She enjoys interacting with residents, family members and helping them get through difficult times. Barbara is dedicated to delivering Platinum Service® at West Hills Village Senior Residence and her vision for the future is to create a successful team that places the residents at the heart of everything they do.
